Rising Mists – Lewis Pass
I set out to capture the moodiness of NZ West coast dramatic weather. The Lewis Pass connects the West Coast with the Northern Canterbury District.
I just loved it because is so different to what I paint in Australia ( No gum trees)
I found it to be both challenging and very rewarding.
The challenges were in the nature of New Zealands’ landscapes which tend to be less chromatic and generally more subdued in light.
